Build: VODER Master
Output stage for the VODER. A master gain node controlled by MIDI CC7 (Volume) feeds a dynamics compressor configured as a safety limiter. The compressor prevents clipping when multiple filter bands peak simultaneously.
Step 1: Add spectral tilt filter
Section titled “Step 1: Add spectral tilt filter”A lowshelf filter at 3 kHz controlled by CC74 (Brightness) applies 0–24 dB of spectral tilt. A mul node scales the normalized CC value (0–1) to dB (0 to −24).
Nodes added: vm-tilt, vm-cc-tilt, vm-tilt-mul
Connections: 2 new
Step 2: Add master volume
Section titled “Step 2: Add master volume”A gain node controlled by MIDI CC7 (Volume) provides master level control.
Nodes added: vm-vol, vm-cc
Connections: 2 new
Step 3: Add safety compressor
Section titled “Step 3: Add safety compressor”A compressor at -12 dB threshold with 4:1 ratio prevents clipping from simultaneous band peaks.
Nodes added: vm-comp
Connections: 1 new
Step 4: Group into a module
Section titled “Step 4: Group into a module”Select all six nodes and press g. Expose the tilt input and compressor output as ports.
What you just built
Section titled “What you just built”A reusable VODER Master module with 1 exposed parameter and 2 exposed ports.
Select it in the Module Library (SPC m) to add one to any patch.
